What you type into a calculator
All calculations run in your browser. The values you enter and the results are not sent to StepCalcs and are not stored on our servers.
What is saved on your device
To make the site more useful, your browser stores a few things locally: your history tape, your choice of light or dark mode, your preferred currency, and a copy of the pages so they work offline. This information never leaves your device. You can remove the tape with the Clear button, and remove everything by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Links you share
When you use Copy link, the values you entered are placed in the link so the person who opens it sees the same calculation. Share such links only with people you are happy to show those numbers to.
Advertising
We show advertising to keep the site free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google in Google Ads Settings, and learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can opt out of some other vendors' personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
Visitor statistics
We may use an analytics service to count visits and see which calculators are used most. This involves cookies or similar identifiers and records information such as the pages viewed, the type of device and the approximate location. It does not record what you type into a calculator.
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard logs that include IP addresses, browser type and the time of each request. These are used to keep the site secure and working.
Children
The site is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete personal data held about you. Because we do not keep accounts or store what you enter, we hold very little. To ask a question or make a request, write to hello@stepcalcs.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
