How to use the length converter

The formula
Every unit is defined in metres, so a conversion is one multiplication: result = value × (metres in the from-unit ÷ metres in the to-unit). An inch is exactly 2.54 cm, a foot is exactly 0.3048 m and a mile is exactly 1,609.344 m.
Worked example
To convert 5 feet to centimetres: one foot is 30.48 cm, so 5 × 30.48 = 152.4 cm.

How do I convert a height like 5 ft 9 in?
Turn it into inches first: 5 × 12 + 9 = 69 inches. Then convert 69 inches to get 175.26 cm.
